Two jobs
Know whether you are optimizing one week or one roster window.
The word lineup can describe a start/sit decision or the quality of a dynasty starting core. Mixing the two creates bad inputs and bad expectations.
Weekly analysis is time-sensitive. It should reflect injury status, expected role, opponent, weather when material, recent usage, and the scoring categories in the league. A result can become stale within hours.
Dynasty analysis is structural. It asks how many difference-making starters the roster controls, whether flex spots are strong, how steeply quality drops on the bench, and whether future picks can repair weaknesses.

Choose among eligible players for the current scoring period using up-to-date projection and availability inputs.
Dynasty starter core
Compare the best legal lineup with league-mates and evaluate the age, scarcity, and market value behind it.
Roster resilience
Identify the first replacement at each position and how much expected quality disappears after an injury or bye.
Inputs
League rules decide which players and stats matter.
An analyzer cannot choose a valid lineup or score positional strength without the same rules your league uses.
Count required starters, flex eligibility, Superflex slots, scoring bonuses, reception format, and any position-specific premium. Then identify which lineup spots are scarce and which can be replaced from the bench or waivers.
For weekly decisions, prefer recent opportunity and confirmed availability over season-long totals alone. For dynasty decisions, add market value, age, contract or role stability, and future draft capital.
Lineup legality
Apply position eligibility and every required starter or flex slot before comparing alternatives.
Scoring fit
Use the league’s PPR, passing, tight end, bonus, and turnover rules rather than a default projection setting.
Opportunity quality
For weekly choices, weigh routes, targets, carries, red-zone work, snaps, and role changes with current availability.
Decisions
Fix structural lineup weakness without chasing every week.
A bad weekly matchup is not automatically a roster problem. A repeated starter-quality gap often is.
Track whether a position repeatedly forces low-confidence starts or whether the issue is temporary byes and injuries. Structural gaps deserve waiver, trade, or draft attention. One-week gaps may be better handled with the bench.
Before trading, compare the expected lineup improvement with the long-term asset cost. A small projection gain should not require a premium pick unless it also improves depth or protects a real championship window.
Stream the week
Use waivers or bench alternatives when the problem is temporary and the replacement level is close.
Trade for structure
Pay for a starter when the upgrade repeatedly changes the legal lineup and fits the roster’s competitive window.
Draft for resilience
Use picks to add long-term upside or depth when the roster has time and no urgent championship gap.
